Number of riders: 7
Boiling point of water: 212
Air temp: 30.28
I'm not sure what this means . . . but coincidentally, the morning air temperature times the number of riders exactly equal the boiling point of water.
I have absolutely no idea what that means, but clearly, it is significant.
Plan was to ride the Hugo's loop.
But with the "feels like" temp (or whatever they call windchill now) at something close to absolute zero . . . our leader in safety green (you can tell which one she is . . . the one not in red), makes the wise decision to turn around at Fox Farm . . . and head back to meet the others.
After a mad dash, and after somehow loosing Joe . . .

Some of us just couldn't resist the gravel . . .
