Sneaky . . .

The agreed upon meeting place was Brighton Beach,
9:00 AM.

I left my house at 7:55, planning on
"taking the scenic route" and meeting the bunch.

Imagine my surprise as I pass "the Church"
and out of the corner of my eye . . .
see two people about to ride off.

They drew up their jackets and cast their eyes downward as I approached.

Sure enough . . .  it was "two of us . . ." about to embark on a solo, unsanctioned journey.
             Kristen and Shanie . . . BUSTED

Now I have a dilema: Do I ride with the girls, or ride down as planned and ride with a group that will likely consist of mostly smelly boys?

OK, that was easy.

Off we went on a Kristen adventure.
Map in hand . . . roads she had never traveled.

Reaching a major intersection, the gals realize they were to have been running the Superior Hiking Trail Marathon.  oops

Not to worry, and off we go to the MOCHA MOOSE

Where we meet the rest of the crew for well deserved coffee.

and learn . . . that some customers are repeat customers
Hey . . . lighten up . . . no need to be serious
As always, a great time
We bid adieu to some of the group pressed for time
while the rest of us pressed onward and upward
The careful viewer will note that both of our leaders
have their front skewers on the right (wrong) side of their bike
It was heretofore assumed this was a trick performed successfully
only by a DBD rider by the name of "farrow"
Although the winds became ferocious
your author carefully positioned himself behind
the others (far enough back to avoid touching wheels!)
and managed to expend 0 energy on the ride home
Thanks for making a great Saturday ride!
TOMORROW:  SUNDAY 17 OCTOBER
CHECK THE BLOG or YOUR EMAIL EARLY IN THE MORNING
WE WILL RIDE SOMETIME AROUND 11
FROM BRIGHTON BEACH

oh yeah . . .

  1. Nice ferret picture. Go Iggy. Looks like another nice day in the saddle. Here is where I was today. Watching my middle child kick some butt: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1Si_RZAT_0
